Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is a warm, friendly, diverse parish located in Rocky Mount, Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Please join us for Mass, fellowship and parish activities.

We are clustered with St. Gerard (Roanoke, VA), Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Salem, VA), St. Andrew's (Roanoke, VA) and Our Lady of Nazareth (Roanoke, VA). Rev. René Castillo, Pastor of St. Gerard Church is our Pastor.


Our Mission

We are a community of people created in the image and likeness of God, redeemed by Jesus, the Son of God, and guided by the Holy Spirit. We answer God's call to come together for reverent worship, healing, mutual support, spiritual growth, education and Christian action as the Catholic Community of Franklin County, Virginia.We witness to our Catholic faith through the love of Jesus, our brother, which we share with each other and with those outside our faith community.

We affirm that this world and all that is in it belongs to God. We resolve to use the abundant material and personal gifts He has given to each of us to further His Kingdom of peace, justice and mercy.

In order to establish our presence and enable us to be this church, we work to provide the physical facilities in the simplicity and spirit of Francis of Assisi and organizational structures sufficient to carry out this mission.
